Using Flonase

Flonase's Side Effects

Side effects of Flonase may include nose bleeding, blood in nasal mucus, or nasal burning or irritation. Less common or rare side effects are headache, sneezing, runny nose, nasal dryness, congestion, or stomach upset. If you experience a side effect that persists or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor. In the unlikely event that you experience vision problems, headache, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, or dizziness, consult with a MD immediately. In the very unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Long-term use of nasal steroids may cause fungal infections of the nose or throat. Inform your MD if you develop an infection.

Drug Interactions with Flonase

Tell your MD or pharmacist about any other drugs you may be using, especially of other nasal products (such as cold products), other corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), and antibiotics. The use of other steroids (in oral or inhaled form) may increase the chance of side effects or overdose.
