Using Viagra

Drug Interactions with Viagra

Viagra intensifies the effects of the blood-pressure lowering medications, as well as the blood-pressure lowering effects of nitrates, such as isosorbide dinitrate (Isordil), isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur, Ismo, Monoket), nitroglycerin (Nitro-Dur, Transderm-Nitro) that are used primarily for treating angina. Patients taking nitrates should not take Viagra. Inform your MD if you are taking amyl nitrate, amyl nitrite, or butyl nitrate.

Viagra has been proven safe for use in most adult men and is generally well-received. However, like many medications, Viagra is not a suitable treatment for all individuals. Certain combination of Viagra with other drugs may be very dangerous; do not take any medication in conjunction with Viagra without first consulting your doctor. Before having any procedure or surgery, including dental surgery, tell the staff you are taking Viagra.
